The App Store build calls Anthropic or OpenAI directly with your matching API key. A separate local macOS build can use signed-in Claude or Codex CLI subscriptions. Promptron does not proxy or resell model access.

Promptron Support
Promptron turns rough intent into prompts aligned with Claude or Codex/ChatGPT product surfaces, using bundled capability retrieval and transparent evaluation signals.
Separate Permission
Before the current local account first contacts a provider, Promptron explains what may be sent and asks separately for Anthropic and OpenAI permission. Permissions are not shared across local accounts. Revoke either provider later in Settings; unapproved providers are excluded from fallback.
Local Workspace
Projects, conversations, generated prompts, scores, local profiles, and settings remain on your device. Promptron runs no analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
On-Device Dictation
Speech recognition is required to run on-device. If the selected language or device does not support local recognition, recording does not start and audio is not uploaded.
Promptron Pro
Pro unlocks App features such as additional forms, full encyclopedia retrieval, multi-project workspaces, live evaluation, and export. Anthropic/OpenAI usage is billed separately by the provider under your account.

Pasted links are fetched directly only when you start an action. The referenced site may receive standard network information; extracted content is sent to an AI provider only when you have allowed that provider.
Common Questions
Which provider account do I need?
For live generation, add an Anthropic or OpenAI API key. The App can use either configured provider to prepare a prompt for either target family while retaining the target family's bundled guidance. The local macOS build may instead use an installed, signed-in CLI.
Does anything leave my device?
Yes, when you choose an online action. Relevant prompt context, text extracted from files you select, images you select, and a limited number of linked images fetched from a web page whose URL you paste may be sent directly to an AI provider you have allowed. Pasted links are fetched directly from the referenced websites. Nothing travels through a Promptron model server. See the Privacy Policy for exact categories.
What happens if I decline provider permission?
Promptron does not contact that provider. You can continue with local/offline features and later review the choice in Settings → Data Sharing.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes. Subscriptions purchased through Apple are managed in your Apple account: System Settings or App Store account settings → Subscriptions.
Does Promptron promise better prompts?
No. Promptron offers convenience, product-surface fit, local organization, retrieval, and evaluation workflow—not a guarantee of prompt quality or output correctness.
